GWBL WEEK 6 - FEATURES (Part 2)

GWBL - Week 6 Entertainment - Features

Welcome back for the rest of GWBL entertainment - Week 6. These are true design features of each team. From 6th to 10th:

Henry Hurts - Tieg (3-3)

Jalen Hurts is a matchup proof and game script proof QB. He will get the fantasy points by air or by land no matter what. One game he rushes for 2 TDs, the next he throws for 3 TDs. That’s not hyperbole, that actually happened. Week 2 he rushed for 2 TDs against the Vikings. Week 3 he threw for 3 TDs against the WFT/Commanders/Redskins. It’s absolutely unfair and ridiculous. This guy is on pace for 17 passing TDs and 17 rushing TDs. SEVENTEEN RUSHING TDS. That is absolutely insane. A QB with 17 rushing TDs. What is this Madden?

Unfortunately for Tieg, another feature is underperformance from his WRs. Keenan Allen is dealing with the worst hamstring pull of all time and hasn’t played since Week 1. Courtland Sutton has the worst QB of all time and just put up 3 points on MNF. Devonta Smith is wildly inconsistent and his QB is more of an RB. Terry Mclaurin is yet again being held back by his assortment of terrible QBs. Deebo has promise, but he’s barely a WR10. For all the investment in the position, Tieg just isn’t getting much from it.

Aiyuk Talkin to Me? - Frader (3-3)

Feature #1 - Stefon Diggs is WR1 with Josh Allen. He has 4 games with 26 or more points and has 7 or more receptions in all but 1 week. He’s seemingly unstoppable and is certainly matchup proof. He’s also game script proof. If they kill the other team (Week 1), he goes 8-122-1 TD. If they have a close game (Week 6), he goes 10-148-1 TD. It doesn’t matter what’s going on in the game, Diggs is going to go off (minus 1 game where he “only” scored 10 points).

Another feature is that Frader’s top RBs will continue to get fed. Touches galore. That’s what she said. Anyways Joe Mixon has been a workhorse, with 15 or more touches in all but 1 game (boohoo he had 12). Dameon Pierce is the next workhorse - with 15 or more touches in all but 1 game. In a season of frustrating usage and coaching decisions, it’s nice to have some consistency.

Tuna Tungyamotha - Lamone (2-4)

Jamar Chase is wildly inconsistent. One week he puts up 30, the next he puts up 11. On and on and on. He’s actually bookended his season with 30 points in Week 1, then 13 or fewer in Weeks 2-5 and another blowup of 34 in Week 6. Consistency is king in fantasy and Chase has been consistently inconsistent this year.

Rhamondre Stevenson has become a top 10 RB in the NFL. Not exaggerating, he’s one of the most talented RBs in the NFL. I’m obviously biased as a Pats fan and this may be due to the fact I really only watch Pats games, but man he looks great right now. His combination of size and elusiveness is crazy to watch and I’m so excited for his future with the Pats.

Zero-Point Zero - Commish (1-5)

My QB play has been completely horrendous and is probably the #1 reason my season is over before Halloween. In a world where Josh Allen averages 35 a game and Jalen Hurts runs for 17 TDs, my QBs are botching mid range throws and missing basic reads. In 6 weeks I only have 2 games of 20+ from my QBs. The other 4 are 16 or fewer. You just can’t win with that lack of production from the QB spot.

The other area where my servers short circuit is the TE position. Despite investing a 3rd round pick in Kyle Pitts and another draft pick in David Njoku, I have very little to show for it. On the season I’m averaging just 8 points per week from the position. That would be bad if I completely ignored the position and didn’t draft a TE. In a PPR league that’s 4 for 40 every week with no TDs. Speaking of which - I don’t have a single TD from the TE position this entire season. Not one. ZERO POINT ZERO.

Austin Massachoochoo - Ken (1-5)

Injuries have been a bad system feature for Ken this year. It started with Elijah Mitchell in week 1 and hasn’t stopped since. Darren Waller has suffered from various ailments and Damien Harris’ injury may have cost him his job. Pat Friermuth is dealing with a concussion and Deandre Swift has missed 3-4 games with injury. His QB Aaron Rodgers now has a thumb injury. Suboptimal for a QB. To top it all off Mike Evans missed a game due to suspension which is not injury related but unfortunate nonetheless.

Points against has been a virus for Ken this season. Ken is getting creamed with points against. He leads the league with 901 against, or 150 per week. ONE FIFTY PER WEEK!!! That is unconscionable. My team only has 1 fewer total on the season, but there were so many bad bugs in my offense I couldn’t even fit that in there. That being said, how are Ken and I supposed to compete in this environment? Fantasy just isn’t fun right now, if it ever is/was.
