WEEK 10 RECAPS - PART 2

WEEK 10 RECAPS - PART 2

Skertz skRtz w Mahomiez (5-5)

One: Has Dylan replaced me as the unluckiest team in the league? He leads the league in points against with 1,369 or 137 against per week. He’s definitely had some bad luck, but I think he’ll need another bad beat to take the throne from me.

Two: Is Leonard Fournette back? Fournette finally appears to be healthy and put up a 30 point bukake against the Colts in Week 10. Up to that point he had scored just 15 fantasy points this year and by my count, he doubled that this past week. His efficiency was awful, but the workload counts for a lot of points in this league. If he’s healthy Dylan could ride him to the playoffs.

Three: Speaking of being back – is Kenny Golladay legit again? Golladay was having a breakout season through 5 weeks – he caught 27 balls for 430 yards, 3 TDs and 76 fantasy points (5, 85, .6 TD and 15 points per game). Over the next 4 weeks he averaged less than 4 fantasy points per game (there was a bye in there but fact are facts –he got zero points that week). He finally came back on the radar this past week with 6 for 78 and a TD, so his owners are praying there’s more to come.

Zeke-a-Tyreek (5-5)

One: Is Keetz the most inconsistent team in the league? His point totals are 147, 115, 109, 167, 77, 174, 104, 109, 122 and 182. I think you can tell which games he’s won and which ones he’s lost. Variety is the spice of life…..unless you have to play Keetz when his team shows up.

Two: Is Aaron Jones for real? All season long everyone’s been clamoring for him to get more touches and the Packers are starting to oblige us. Over the last three weeks he’s combined for 41 carries, 306 rushing yards, 7 catches, 37 receiving yards and most importantly for us – 65 fantasy points. He’s got a tough matchup on Thursday night, so let’s see how he does.

Three: Brandin Cooks is a top 10 fantasy WR? Really? You bet - he currently ranks 9. That definitely came out of nowhere and is mainly due to the last two weeks. In the past 2 games he’s caught 16 passes for 214 yards, a TD and 46.5 fantasy points. That’s over 30% of his season long production – will he keep it up now that Cooper Kupp is out? (I think so.)

 The West Canaan Coyotes (5-5)

One: Did my luck finally turn around? After 3 horrible brutal losses in a row in Weeks 6-8 it seemed like my season was doomed. I was ready to sell all of my possessions and move into the middle of nowhere Montana. AKA where my Mom’s side of the family lives. Luckily the fantasy gods have shined down on me the past two weeks and I’m back in the playoff hunt at 5-5. Will the luck continue, or will I be writing an angry writeup next week? (We all know the answer to this.)

Two: Has Saquon Barkley hit a wall? He’s still RB6 and producing highlight plays, but his worst two weeks of the season have come in his last two games (18 points and 16 points, boo hoo I know). I’m assuming teams are starting to key on him more, but they have to respect Odell, Engram and Shepard too. Let’s hope it’s just a momentary dip in production because I really need him.

Three: Which Stefon Diggs am I gonna get the rest of the way? The 8 catches for 33 yard and 7 points Diggs? Or the 10 catches for 119 and a TD Diggs? I have no idea, fingers crossed.

Deangelo Vickers (6-4)

One: Will guy Distance himself from the 5-5 mediocrity? The top two in our league are clear – it’s Tieg and Ken. We then have 5 teams that are either 5-5 or 6-4. Guy is the one team who could challenge for a first round bye, but will he be able to catch Tieg or Ken?

Two: Will the Rams start giving Todd Gurley some rest as they close in on the end of the season? I think they’ve almost clinched the #1 seed in the NFC, but the Saints are right on their tails. Unfortunately for me it won’t happen this week as they play the Chiefs and their piss poor defense. Gurley for 30 touches and 45 fantasy points, put it on the board.

Three: What is Guy going to get from Gronk the rest of the way? He’s currently TE12 and with how putrid the TE position is, that’s not even close to good enough. Depending on how the rest of the season goes for Dalvin Cook and Leonard Fournette, Gronk might go down as the 2nd biggest bust of the 2nd round (#1 goes to Devonta Freeman who is on IR).

 Thanos anal snap (7-3)

One: How many more games will Melvin Gordon miss this year? He’s been a stud, no doubt about that – he’s RB5 with 1,000 total yards and 11 TDs. All of that being said, he tends to break down late in the season. He already missed one game out of nowhere when he was inactive for his week 8 matchup, so this is something I’ll be watching. Let’s hope he doesn’t miss games during the fantasy playoffs.

Two: Will Robert Woods finish as a top 10 WR? He’s currently #10 with an attractive matchup vs the Chiefs coming up this weekend. Cooper Kupp is gone which should open up more targets, but even with Kupp he was able to produce. He’s been one of the most consistent receivers in fantasy this year, with 70 or more yards in every games since Week 1. He has 5 catches and 70 or more yards in 8 of 10 games.

Three: Who is Tieg gonna settle on as his WR2? The options are DJ Moore, Corey Davis and Josh Gordon. I believe he prefers Gordon, but it’s hard to trust him right now. Hard to trust any of those options, but Gordon has been very inconsistent since joining the Pats. Game scores of 4, 12, 7, 14, 6, 24 and 10 since he came on don’t exactly inspire confidence.

Ken’s African Safari (8-2)

One: Is Ken really going to win the league with a team he got help drafting? While I hate mentioning this dark time in the league’s history, this is exactly why attending the live draft used to be mandatory for league participation. Robby D was suspended for a year when he couldn’t make the draft, yet Ken’s reward is a championship caliber team. Ken’s honeymoon was a good excuse (although he wouldn’t have been married in August if he truly cared about the league), but it pains me every time I see the league standings and am not able to confirm or deny whether or not he drafted his team.

Two: How many more TDs will Julio Jones score this year? He’s scored in back to back games for the first time in 2 years (I predicated that last week in my writeup NBD), but how many total are we looking at this year? If the last 4 years are any indication, he averages about 6 per year. That means he’s due for another 4, which could mean perfect timing for Ken’s playoff run.

Three: Did Ken actually win on the LeSean McCoy trade? As you all remember, there was a lot of drama surrounding this trade when it went down. Ken made a verbal offer, Rob D accepted, Keetz laughed and Ken took the offer back. Eventually he was pressured into making the trade and guess what? Two weeks later McCoy has his best game of the season – 32.5 points on 26 carries, 113 yards and 2 TDs. Edelman had a nice game last week (20 points himself), but Ken might actually win this trade. Or it worked out for both teams – we’ll wait to see in the year end recaps.
