WEEK 11 RECAPS - PART 1

WEEK 11 RECAPS - PART 1

WEEK 11 RECAPS:

And we’re back for Week 11 recaps Part 1. We only have 2 more weeks of weekly recaps before we move on to season long obituaries and I hope you’ve enjoyed the entertainment so far. For Week 11’s entertainment, we’ll just recap the matchups from the prior weekend and make some observations - let’s do 4 for each matchup. Hopefully this will help you make it through the final hours of work or the long trips to wherever you’re spending Thanksgiving.

Matchup 1: The GOAT And His Kids defeats DalvinCooKens African Rhino 114.5 - 104.9

ONE: Kev got a big win this week and avoided a three game losing streak that would have put his playoff hopes in serious jeopardy. Honestly it was a gift of a win since he only put up 114.5 – the third lowest mark of the week. Had he come out of Week 11 at 5-6, we’d be having a different conversation, but for now he’s still in the playoff hunt.

TWO: Another tough week for Robby D as his squad put up 108 or fewer for the 3rd consecutive matchup. Considering the fact Keetz scores 500 points a week, 108 or less per week is not gonna cut it. It’s been a lost season for our three-peat second place finisher, but he still has a chance to play spoiler (calling it now, Robby D will beat me this week).

THREE: James Conner has had a pretty rough go of it since Le’Veon Bell decided to be a dumbass and he’s combined for just 26.1 fantasy points in his last two games. That includes a season low 9.7 points this past week in what was his worst game of the season – that dropped pass he had almost cost the Steelers the game. He’s got some favorable matchups coming up, so hopefully for Kev’s sake he turns it around.

FOUR: One of the predictions I made last week was that Dalvin Cook would have a big end of the season and somewhat justify his draft position. Wrong wrong wrong wrong. Cook had his lowest carry total of the season (9), his lowest rushing total of the season (12) and caught 3 passes for -2 yards. Yikes. Good news for him is that he has a matchup with the terrible Packers and their terrible head coach. 30 point game coming right up.

Matchup 2: SLAMMY TWATSKiNS defeats You Done Messed Up, A ARON! 132.3 – 87.6

ONE: This was the marquee matchup of the week in regards to the standings. Frader and Lamone were both 4-6 coming in and barely hanging on to their playoff hopes. Whoever lost would fall to 4-7 and most likely miss the playoffs. Whoever won would be 5-6 and still have a shot. Props to Lamone here, his team showed up when it mattered. The 132 was the second highest point total for his team this year and it came at the perfect time.

TWO: The oft-criticized Keenan Allen came up big for Lamone – 9 catches 89 yards, 1 TD and 20 fantasy points. While the first half of his season was uninspiring, Allen has caught 21 passes for 270 yards, 2 TDs and 55 fantasy points over the last 3 weeks. He had a big second half last year and he is getting hot when Lamone needs it most.

THREE: While Lamone’s team rose to the occasion this week, Frader’s team crumbled like the Eagles on Sunday. Ironic because guess who Frader started at QB…. Carson Wentz. What a joke. Wentz and the Eagles folded like hot laundry on Sunday and Frader’s starting QB only put up 2.3 points. 2.3!!! That honestly might be the worst score by any QB who started and finished a game in the NFL this season. That’s all I have to say about that.

FOUR: Speaking of worst games of the year - Frader’s team picked a really bad time to have their worst output of the season. The 87 points he scored this week were a season low for his team and was 17 fewer points than any other team in Week 11. Looking at it now, Frader’s two lowest scores have come in back to back weeks: 96 in Week 10 and 87 in Week 11. I haven’t done the math, but I think that’s a wrap on Frader’s season. If so, that’s three years in a row that Frader has missed the playoffs.

Matchup 3: skErtz skErtz w Mahomiez defeats Kens African Safari 172.7 – 133.1

ONE: Huge, huge, huge win for Dyl when his squad needed it. Coming into the week Dyl was 5-5 and at risk of falling below .500. That would have put him outside of the playoffs if the season ended today. Just like most of our other winners, his team got a pump up speech from their fearless leader and came out guns blazing. The 172 points he scored are his season high and will really come in handy if tie breakers are needed at the end of the year.

TWO: Ironically enough, Zach skErtz skErtz had his worst game of the season – 2 catches, 15 yards, 2.5 fantasy points. Fortunately for Dyl, Ty Hilton and Kenny Golladay each had their best games of the season. Hilton put up 34 points on 9 catches 155 and 2 TDs – one of which was a sick 68 yard bomb from Andrew Luck. The 34 points actually doubles his previous season high of 17.8 (close enough). Meanwhile, Golladay had 23.3 points on 8 for 113 and a TD – one of which was a ridiculous full extension catch where he fell into the endzone.

THREE: Tough break for Ken here, 133 is enough to win a lot of weeks. Or is it? Looking at it now, 133 only would have beat 5 of the other teams this week. Looking back to Week 10, it also would have only beat 5 other teams. Holy shit our scoring is absurd – I guess it is in every league this year. Side note: I’ve been having some debates behind the scenes with people about expanding to a 12 man league. The sentiment is that no one wants to do it, but would that be a way to reduce the inflated scoring?

FOUR: Couple of notes on Ken’s WRs. First, I called that Julio would score a TD for the 3rd week in a row. CALLED IT. Second, fuck Antonio Brown and the Steelers. 78 yard touchdown gtfoh. Third, Adam Thielen’s hit a little bit of a slump it appears. After starting the season with 8 straight 100 yard games, he’s only combined for 88 yards the last two weeks. He still has a TD in that time and 10+ fantasy points in each matchup, but maybe other teams are finally starting to key on him. Probably not, I bet he’ll go for 100 against the Packers this week.
