WEEK 11 RECAPS - PART 2
Matchup 4: Zeke – a – Tyreek defeats thanos anal snap 192.3 – 150.1
ONE: Semi related to the matchup, but Keetz has been a thieving shtable boy this year. Explain: our league rewards $25 to each week’s high scorer as a way to spice things up. It helps you recoup some of your investment during the year and encourages you to go for maximum points every week. Ultimately it rewards you for having a great week. So where does the thieving shtable boy come in? The way he’s earned the $25 in our league this year.
In Week 6, Guy put up 165.7. That would have been enough to win the $25 in 4 of the first 5 weeks. Unfortunately for Guy, he was thieved by Keetz who scored 174.
In Week 10, I put up 169.9 points. That would have been enough to win the $25 in 7 of the first 9 weeks. Unfortunately for me, I was thieved by Keetz who scored 182.
In Week 11, I put up 186 points. That would have been enough to win the $25 in every….single….week…up until week 11. Thieving shtable boy strikes again and puts up 192 to steal the $25.
TWO: I don’t think I’ve mentioned him much here, but Andrew Luck has been on fire since Week 4. Over his last 7 games he’s averaging 29 fantasy points per game with a low of 25.5. He also has 3 or more touchdowns in each of those 7 games, which is Patrick Mahomes level consistency…. Oh wait, even Mahomes hasn’t done that this year (zero TDs in Week 5 and 2 in Week 10). While he hasn’t had too many bukake games (only 1 with more than 30 points), the consistency is so key on a week to week basis. Overall he’s scored 25 or more points in 8 of his 10 games.
THREE: Tieg had his most “pure taige” start of the year this week with DJ Moore. The Panthers 1st round draft pick is a talented player, but he was coming off two bad games and I didn’t see him on any “start em” or sleepers list. The prior two weeks weren’t just “bad” games, they were terrible games – 5.5 points and 4.7 points on a combined 5 catches for 36 yards. Nonetheless Tieg started him because Josh Gordon was on a bye and….. 7 catches 157 yards, 1 TD and 27 fantasy points. Pure Taige.
FOUR: Tieg might have lost his chance to get the #1 seed this year, losing this game right before the Chiefs/Rams bye. Honestly the timing couldn’t be worse, as he plays against Ken this week and will be without Kareem Hunt, Robert Woods, the Rams D and Jared Goff. With a loss to Ken he actually might be in danger of losing his first round bye entirely. Then again, Ken is due for a loss….
Matchup 5: The West Canaan Coyotes defeats Deangelo Vickers 186.8 – 115.2
ONE: I hate that the Giants drafted Saquon Barkley. Hate it so much. I was worried it might happen throughout the entire draft season and my worst dreams came true on draft night. Rather than him going to some team who I could sort of root for, he goes to my least favorite team…. and my least favorite brother in law gets to root for him. Barkley once again created internal conflict for me by leading the Giants to a win this past weekend. While my fantasy team enjoyed the career high 27 carries and 142 rushing yards, my real life fandom remains conflicted. Fantasy is a bitch sometimes.
TWO: The roller coaster season continues for Stefon Diggs. In his 5 good games, he averages 10 catches for 117 yards, 1 TD and 24 fantasy points per game. In his 5 bad games, he averages 3.6 catches, 25 yards, 0 TDs and 6 fantasy points per game. He’s either going to hook it up for me down the stretch, or really take a dump on my team’s chances.
THREE: Todd Gurley had his worst game of the season this year – 13.3 fantasy points. His next lowest score of the year was the 19.5 he put up in Week 9. He hasn’t scored that few points since Week 5 of 2017, and that was the only time he scored lower than 16 last year. It was also the first time in his past 14 games that he didn’t score a TD. While I like to declare when I get unlucky, I can admit I got really really really lucky here.
FOUR: Guy suffered a pretty bad beat when Kerryon Johnson went down with a knee injury in Week 11. Kerryon was on his way to a huge game and had 20 points basically at half time. Sadly the rookie went down with a knee injury in the 3rd quarter and he’ll likely be out a few weeks. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was out the rest of the fantasy regular season and that’s obviously terrible news for Guy – especially with Gurley on a bye this week. Gonna be tough to fill his flex this week.
