WEEK 4 - PART 2

WEEK 4 - PART 2

KingoftheNorth Short (2-2):

Good News: The good news is that Rob D’s top 2 RBs are producing consistent numbers for him. David Johnson and Derrick Henry have been steady all year and combined for 40 points this week. Over 4 weeks they’ve combined for 58, 29, 31 and 40 points. Consistency is key in fantasy and Rob D can depend on these guys week in and week out.

Bad News: The bad news is that JuJu Smith Schuster might be ruined. In the two games since Big Ben’s injury, JuJu has only 6 catches on 11 targets for 96 yards and 1 TD. If you take away the flukey 76 yard TD in Week 3, that’s 5 catches on 10 targets for TWENTY yards and 0 TDs. He scored 3 fantasy points this week. Three. If that doesn’t make you sweat as a JuJu owner I don’t know what will.

Return of the Mack (2-2):

Good News: This will easily be Frader’s worst week of the season – that’s the good news, get it out of the way. This box score is just an ugly example of what happens when everyone on your team forgets to show up. TB12 for 3.5 points, Marlon Mack for 6, Tyler Locket for 7, Phillip Lindsey for 8. Gross. Frader was projected for 137 and only scored 90 – that’s nearly 50 points off the projection. Way to go ESPN. As I mentioned with Keetz – at least he got it out of the way in one week.

Bad News: The bad news is Marlon Mack. We all know the story with Mack – he can put up huge numbers when he’s healthy and gets a good game script. The “if healthy” part is what concerns me right now. He came into Week 3 with a calf injury and was questionable. He played pretty well and came into Week 4 in full health, but he got injured again. That’s two separate lower body injuries in 4 weeks which is not good for Mack owners. I guess it really gives meaning to Frader’s team name: “Return of the Mack”. (BOOM)

The Skid Row Nightcrawlers (2-2):

Good News: The good news is that Baker Mayfield might not be a total bust this season. Guy’s 6th round pick put up a season high 21 fantasy points on 342 passing yards and a TD in a divisional matchup against the Ravens. This isn’t the same Ravens D we’re accustomed to seeing, but it was in Baltimore and Baker really needed this one. Hopefully this is the jumpstart this whole offense needs to live up to the offseason hype.

Bad News: The bad news is we may have lost Guy’s interest. I don’t really want to deal with the drama, but I’m pretty sure we had a rule that said you have to pay 25 into the pot if you start a player who’s injured or on a bye. This week Guy started TY Hilton despite the fact he was doubtful all week and was officially ruled out well before the 1PM games. He still won…. gotta love fantasy. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that this wasn’t strategic - Guy just doesn’t really care about fantasy football. To each their own, but it sucks for the league.

The Permian Panthers (4-0):

Good News: Obviously the good news is that I’m 4-0. Couldn’t have asked for a better start to the season. I have the second fewest points against which is really lucky – in fairness I have put up a good amount of points. The combined record of the teams I’ve faced is 5-11 so yeah, it’s been an easy start to the year. Just have to enjoy being 4-0 for the next few days.

Bad News: The bad news is I’ve hitched 2/7ths of my offense to the Bengals. What an idiot, what a fucking idiot. Joe Mixon as my first round pick was and still is a terrible decision. While he put up 11.2 points this week, he’s RB33 on the year. 8th RB off the board and 33rd in scoring – can’t have that. Tyler Boyd is the other Bengal and I was naively excited about him until this week’s disaster where he scored 4.8 points in a game they lost by 24. How does that even happen? Andy Dalton and a bad offensive line.

HOW’S HOOTERS? KiTTLES? (0-4):

Good News: While my season couldn’t have started off any better, Lamone’s couldn’t have started off any worse. The good news is that it legitimately can’t get any worse. We all know Lamone won’t go 0-13 and regression will swing back his way in the last 9 weeks of the season. This team is too talented not to have better days: LeVeon, Rodgers, James White, Odell, Julian, Michael Thomas, Kittle, Godwin, Gallman. Too much talent on this team to not go at least 4-5 the rest of the way. He’s also past the byes for LeVeon and Kittle which is good news.

Bad News: The bad news is Austin Ekeler’s value is going to plummet. With Melvin Gordon back Ekeler will likely settle into his role from last year – about 8-10 touches per game and if he doesn’t score he’s not going to help you. Sadly for him, Gordon is a short yardage fiend and doesn’t yield many TDs to his backups. This ain’t no Mike Tolbert situation for Ekeler. It was nice for 4 weeks while it lasted, but the Ekeler train is leaving the station.
